I've updated to Firefox 3.6 now.
I did a dry test run in a virtual machine and it turned out that the only extension that wasn't compatible (Stop! Hammertime!) has a compatible version available for download on the author's website. So, with nothing major incompatible (like, say, Classic Compact or Adblock Plus), I went on and updated my main install.
Now I can use those personas. Not that I'd want to. Using a persona means forgoing a theme, and I'm not forgoing Classic Compact.
At any rate, it's nice to not have Firefox bugging me every 6-12 hours to upgrade.
Of course, as soon as I looked in my extension list after updating, I found that Java had snuck its bullshit console extension back in there. Why the hell does Firefox allow external applications to install extensions without the user's consent?
